## Vaults — Staking Infrastructure

Vaults are the core primitive of StakeWise. Each Vault is an independent, isolated staking pool with configurable parameters:

- **Networks**: Ethereum or Gnosis Chain
- **Access control**: Public, private (whitelist-based), or blocklist-based
- **ERC-20 token**: Optional custom vault token
- **Fee & Capacity**: Configurable operator fee and maximum stake capacity
- **Block rewards distribution**:
  - *Smoothing Pool* — block rewards are distributed among all connected Vaults, eliminating randomness of block proposals
  - *Vault Escrow* — block rewards go only to the Vault's stakers, preserving full control over relays
